そんなグローバルチームの連載第7回目の今回は、総会インタビューでもご紹介したHermo Creative(M)Sdn. Bhd.（https://www.hermo.my/）のオフィスをご紹介♪楽しくて暖かい職場づくり、必見です(^^)/

Hello from Hermo Malaysia to everybody in Japan.

ヘルモマレーシアからみなさんへ、こんにちは！

 

Let me do a brief introduction, I am PS Chong from Hermo, that the person in charge for product and merchandizing. I started Hermo together with our CEO, Ian Chua. Right then, we have Ian Mok to join us as COO with full of management experience.  

はじめまして、PS Chongです。ヘルモ社で主に商品管理と仕入れを担当しています。現CEOのIan Chuaとヘルモを２０１２年の２月に立ち上げた後、Ian MokがCOOとして仲間になり、彼の経営のノウハウもあり、ヘルモはここまで成長しました。

 

Hermo was started in February 2012, we didn’t really think that much of how to manage a business, but mostly we wanted to create a company that with full of fun and warm. E-commerce is considered a new industry in Malaysia during that time, I still remember friends around me was keep asking what’s e-commerce about, does it make money and etc. This was how we started; we believe in e-commerce and also believe everybody would be more than happy to work in a fun and warm office environment.

ヘルモを立ち上げた当時はビジネスをするというよりも、ただ楽しくて暖かい職場の会社を作りたい一心でした。当時eコマースはマレーシアではまだまだ新しく、よく知り合いにeコマースは何なのか、稼げるのか等質問攻めにあっていました。マレーシアで類を見ない事業として、ヘルモは動き始めました。私たちはeコマースの可能性を信じていますし、誰もが、楽しくて暖かい職場で働くことが何より幸せであるということを信じています。

 

Before we introduce our office to you, let us tell you the direction to our office from Senai Airport (the nearest airport from our office, about 20KM away), in case one day in future you would like to pay a visit to our office. So, there are several ways to come to Hermo office from airport, but I would strongly recommend Uber/Grab, since this is the easier and faster way. It cost about MYR30 for the fare, and 「Hermo Creative」 is searchable in Waze (one of the navigation app).

さて、私たちのオフィスを紹介する前に、スナイ国際空港（ヘルモから２０キロ離れた一番近い空港）からヘルモへの道順を紹介します。みなさんがオフィスへいつかいらっしゃるときのために。実は、行き方は何通りかあるのですがおすすめするのはウーバー(uber)かグラブ(grab)タクシーです。一番早くて簡単な移動手段で、運賃はマレーシアの通貨リンギットでMYR30ほど（日本円で800円ほど）です。ナビアプリWazeにHermo Creative（ヘルモ　クリエイティブ）で検索できますので、是非。

さあ、オフィスにようこそ！

 

This is what Hermo office looks like. The colour painted outside the wall is the colour of Hermo, just like our logo. Right after walk into our office, you will see a big backdrop with full of Hermo logo there, and the other side is actually a “free style” graffiti wall, it is made with a one open large paper sticker during our 5^th year anniversary, for all Hermo employee to leave message over there.

オフィスの建物は外からみるとこんな感じです。外壁の色はヘルモのロゴと同じ、ヘルモカラーです。オフィスに一歩入れば壁にヘルモのロゴがたくさん散りばめられています。その反対側の壁はフリースタイルのグラフィティエリアで、５周年記念巨大ステッカーに社員誰もがメッセージなどを手書きで残せる場所になっています。

After enter from the main entrance, here you see our waiting area for visitor. Apart from that, this area will be also one of our discussion areas when there got no visitor. Many of our employees like to have discussion over here, mainly because the grass could let them have a fresh mind, and stay relaxing.

正面玄関の目の前には来客用の待合スペースがあり来客がない日はディスカッションスペースに変化します。芝生がとても居心地よく、リフレッシュできるからです。

 

At the second floor of our office, there is another “fun” space, we named it “Yellow Room”, a meeting room. However, you barely can find any chair or table over here, what we have is just only sofa and beanbag, whiteboard and a LCD TV. Here’s the place where can help us to think of any creative idea.

オフィス２階にはワクワクするような場所がまだたくさん！イエロールームと名付けられたこの会議室には、机といすは一切なく、かわりに置かれているのはソファー、ボール、ホワイトボードにLCDのテレビです。想像力を最大限に発揮できるような場所です。

 

There’s even a telephone booth (modelled after the British phone booth) for staff to use when they need a little me-time or peace and quiet on the phone. Just like London.

オシャレなイギリス風の通話ブースもあります。スタッフの息抜きや静かに通話をしたいときにもってこいです。

 

After the tour of fun places in second floor, here comes another one, we have a sliding in the office! Staff from second floor can just take ride back to the ground floor if they tiring of walking back via staircase. Furthermore, we will have monthly birthday celebration session in our pantry, so for those people at second floor, will just take the sliding to our pantry and join the celebration.

２階のたくさんワクワクするような場所を紹介してきましたが、ワクワクがもうひとつ！なんと、すべり台が設置されています。２階から１階に階段で移動するのが面倒なとき、すべり台を使えば早くて、疲れなくて、なんといっても楽しい！毎月開催される誕生日会は２階から１階のパントリーめがけてすべっていけます。お祝い事にはこれぐらいのワクワクは必須！

 

To have a young, fun and warm working environment is always our aim, ever since we started Hermo. So just by recently, we created another discussion place for our staff. You will see this place just right after the sliding. We have small tables & chairs, a sofa & whiteboard. 私たちヘルモは当初から、そして今でも、楽しくて暖かい職場つくりを目指しています。最近オフィスに新たなディスカッション用のエリアを設けました。１階すべり台から降りてすぐ近くです。小さな椅子や机、ソファーとホワイトボードが設置されています。今のところ名前が決まっていないので、みなさんから募集します！
